Mechanically Biased Maintenance Engineer

Our Client based in Lichfield are a leading FMCG company renowned for its superior product quality and industry leading standards.

Due to their continued growth in customer demand, they are seeking a Mechanically Biased Maintenance Engineer specifically for their Injection Moulding Department. This role offers a favourable shift pattern of alternating 3 on/3 off (0500-1700 / 1700-0500), allowing for a work-life balance while providing you the chance to utilise and enhance your skills in both mechanical and electrical maintenance.


**Key Benefits:**

  • The starting salary for this position is competitive at £50,100 per annum, with potential earnings reaching between £55,000 and £65,000 per year through overtime, shift allowance and bonuses.
  • Overtime paid at 1.5x and 2.0x rate

**Primary Duties:**

  • As a Maintenance Engineer, your responsibilities will encompass both mechanical and electrical maintenance of plant machinery, including injection moulding and vast pressing machines.
  • The workload will consist of approximately 35% reactive tasks and 65% preventative maintenance.
  • You will be required to diagnose and repair mechanical (80%) and electrical (20%) faults, validate new plant equipment, conduct troubleshooting and failure analysis, and ensure all equipment is safe and operational.
  • Maintaining accurate records for auditing and warranty purposes is also essential.


**Desired Experience:**

  • The ideal candidate will be a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, with a solid background in Plastic Injection Moulding maintenance.
  • Proficiency in hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronic/electrical automation controls is required, alongside strong logic fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and a proactive approach to troubleshooting various types of machinery are key.
  • We are looking for a strong team player who can adapt to a dynamic work environment.
