Description
- Supporting procurement procedures within the business to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Assisting in the negotiation of supplier contracts to achieve favourable terms.
- Working closely with cross-functional teams to determine procurement needs and specifications.
- Conducting market research to identify new potential suppliers and products.
- Maintaining accurate supplier and product records within procurement databases.
- Monitoring inventory levels and placing orders to replenish stocks as needed.
- Resolving issues and discrepancies with orders and invoices.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and practices.
Profile
A successful Assistant Buyer should have:
- Prior experience in a procurement or purchasing role, preferably within the industrial / manufacturing sector.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- A detail-oriented approach with strong organisational skills.
- Able to commute to Lichfield 3 days per week
- Can work well in a team.
