Role Overview:
As part of the support staff, you will work closely with students who have a variety of special educational needs, providing essential assistance in their learning and development. The role is key in helping students overcome challenges and achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in delivering creative and effective lessons, tailored to meet the diverse needs of SEN students.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support, reinforcing learning and helping students engage with the curriculum.
- Support students with personal care needs where required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
- Help to implement individualised learning plans, adapting your approach to suit each student's unique needs.
- Contribute to the creation of a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation and promotes emotional well-being.
- Monitor and report on student progress, communicating regularly with teachers, parents, and relevant professionals.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working with children or young adults with SEN is highly desirable.
- A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A proactive, compassionate, and adaptable approach to supporting children with a wide range of needs.
