API DEVELOPER (AWS & Python)
Mostly remote working - Once per fortnight travel to Staffordshire based office
Salary Range: 70K - 85K
This company is seeking an experienced API Developer to join its dynamic Technology and Change department. The API Developer will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) that facilitate seamless data exchange between various software systems and third-party services. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to a fast-paced, agile environment while working on innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of the business.
Responsibilities:
- Work within an Agile multidisciplinary team to plan, code, and deploy Python and JavaScript-based REST APIs on AWS.
- Identify, develop, document, and deliver high-performance APIs and programs using Python and AWS.
- Manage the API release lifecycle, including versioning and enabling third-party integration.
- Integrate new code into existing continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery/deployment (CD) pipelines.
- Ensure robust API security and authentication mechanisms.
Skills needed:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, information systems, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in developing APIs using Python, JavaScript, OpenAPI, and AWS API Gateway.
- Solid understanding of REST and Rest Oriented Architecture (ROA).
- Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Strong technical skills with a desire to learn new technologies and methodologies.
