Key responsibilities of the Financial Controller:

  • Leadership:Manage, mentor, and develop a small finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
  • Financial Reporting:Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Strategic Contribution:Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to senior management, supporting strategic decision-making.
  • Budgets & Forecasting:Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, aligning financial plans with business objectives.
  • Cash Flow Management:Monitor and optimise cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure the financial health of the business.
  • Internal Controls:Implement and maintain robust financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
  • Taxation & Compliance:Oversee tax filings and ensure adherence to UK tax laws and reporting requirements.
  • Audit Management:Coordinate with external auditors to ensure smooth year-end audits.
  • Ad-Hoc Projects:Support senior management with financial projects, system improvements, and business initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills for the Financial Controller:

  • Professional qualification(ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) Part-qualified candidates with strong, relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Proven experience in aFinancial Controllerrole or similar senior finance position.
  • Strongleadership and team managementskills, with the ability to inspire and develop others.

  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
