Our client is on an exciting journey, disrupting their sector by providing bespoke services to their client base. Operating profitably via a number of revenue streams they have a robust business model based on long term contracts which generate recurring revenue and opportunities to provide additional related services. As part of their growth plan they have recognised the need to recruit a new Financial Controller to head up the finance department and enable the CFO to work on more strategic matters. The ideal candidate for this role would be a CIMA / ACCA or ACA qualified accountant with experience of leading a team, improving reporting and developing systems to cope with the challenges associated with a rapidly growing company. Key responsibilities will be:

• Preparation and presentation of the monthly management accounts• Developing financial reporting and robust controls• Liaise with transactional team to ensure strong processes• Monitor cash and working capital to achieve operational goals• Develop budgets, forecasts and financial planning models• Improve best practice and policies to support decision making• Responsible for statutory accounts production and leading the audit• Liaise with external stakeholders, advisors, regulatory bodies etc• Lead projects to improve systems and processes• Provide support to and deputise for the Finance Director

The successful candidate will be a confident team player with previous experience of a financial management position and an appetite for more impact and exposure in a growing organisation. A key part of this role will involve improving processes and reporting frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and a structure for future growth. Applicants able to bring best practice from a larger company or PLC environment would therefore be attractive. As part of the role you will be using a variety of business management systems and analysis tools so you must a confident user of IT and very familiar with Excel and accounting software.
