On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join their team near Lincoln. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a thriving business by providing key financial insights and supporting the team with strategic and operational decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Management Accounts: Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. You will be responsible for ensuring the accounts are prepared accurately and within deadlines, providing clear, insightful analysis to assist senior management in understanding financial performance.
  • Routine Accounting Functions: Handle core accounting tasks such as data entry, reconciliations, and ledger maintenance to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
  • Financial Data Management: Oversee and maintain essential financial data, including stock levels, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and fixed asset registers. You will ensure that data is up-to-date and accurately reflected in the financial systems.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports, breaking down complex financial data into clear and actionable insights for various stakeholders. You’ll play a key role in delivering month-end and year-end reports.
  • Financial Analysis and Insights: Analyse financial trends, variances, and results to provide recommendations and forecasts. Use these insights to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Support Across Departments: Act as a financial partner to other departments, offering advice, support, and constructive challenge. Your input will be crucial in helping departments achieve financial efficiency.
  • Collaboration and Team Support: Work closely with the finance team and be willing to assist colleagues on ad hoc projects and tasks, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Accounting Credentials: You should be a qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or AAT Level 4) with a strong technical understanding of accounting principles.
  • Experience in Management Accounting: Prior experience in preparing management accounts is essential, with an ability to provide clear, insightful reports that support business objectives.
  • Communication and Reporting Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present data in a clear and accessible manner to both finance and non-finance audiences.
  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to work, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and thoroughness in every task.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: Capable of identifying and addressing financial issues and trends, with a proactive approach to finding solutions.
  • IT Proficiency: High proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, to manage and analyse data effectively.
  • Collaboration and Interpersonal Skills: A team-oriented individual who can work effectively with colleagues across departments, fostering a cooperative and positive environment.
  • Time Management and Prioritisation: Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
