Finance Operations Assistant

Location: Lincoln

Salary: up to £30k & Study Support

Our client is recruiting for an Assistant Accountant for a high growth and successful family owned business.

The Role

The Finance Operations Assistant will support the growth of the company by maintaining efficient processing within Finance Operations, including contributing to continuous improvement. The successful candidate will be process driven, enthusiastic and possess current payments and accounting experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Finance Operations team
  • Continuous improvement of Finance Operations systems
  • Post and reconcile bank transactions ensuring accurate coding
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or outstanding issues
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records in the ERP system
  • Respond promptly to vendor and internal business user inquiries and resolve payment-related issues
  • Contribute to KPI information on Finance Operations
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and accruals
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and Finance team effectiveness
  • Support financial system upgrades, notably in system testing and engaging with business end users

Skills and Qualifications

  • Currently studying or actively wanting to do so
  • Ability and willingness to quickly absorb new information and work in a changing environment
  • Ability to interact with and earn the confidence and trust of a wide range of stakeholders
  • Up to date, working understanding of accounting principle
  • Experience creating reports and presenting financial information clearly and simply
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organised, enthusiastic and committed to meeting deadlines
