In this role you would join the existing ledger accounting team of 6 and report into the Accounts Receivable Manager. The role is hybrid and so expect a minimum of 2 days a week working from available to you.About the Role:Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Manager, as a Accounts Receivable Assistant you will be responsible for managing your own set of the company's customer accounts ensuring timely raising of customer invoices. Initially you will also support with a back log of aged invoices that need to be raised and issued, involving investigatory work and great accuracy. You will work heavily in Excel spreadsheets and the company's finance software system. As part of this team you will also support your fellow colleagues in the Receivables Team chasing aged debt when required. The department boasts a friendly team atmosphere and the company encourages life work balance, with its flexible working hours and hybrid working pattern.Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for your own set of customer accounts.
  • Raising sales invoices and sending for payment within set deadlines.
  • Updating customer records.
  • Housekeeping on your ledger and ensuring all aged invoices are raised.
  • Working in Excel
  • Providing support to the wider finance team as needed.

Ideally you will have:

  • Previous experience of credit control and account receivable processes.
  • Previous experience of completing volume workloads and meeting targets.
  • A proactive and results-driven approach to accounts receivable processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills both with internal and external customers.
  • Be a natural problem solver.
  • A fair, friendly and team player attitude towards work.
  • The ability to work well independently and self-directed, as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent numeracy skills.
  • Confident in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to a basic level.
