Overview
We are looking for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment, ensuring the efficient movement of goods within the warehouse. This is a vital role in maintaining operational flow and requires a strong understanding of warehouse procedures and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts to load and unload materials from lorries and storage areas.
  • Transport materials throughout the warehouse, ensuring proper placement and organisation.
  • Conduct routine inspections of forklifts and other equipment, reporting any mechanical issues for repair.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory control.
  • Perform heavy lifting as required, adhering strictly to safety guidelines to prevent injury.
  • Use basic maths skills to measure loads and calculate weights.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Use warehouse management systems to monitor inventory levels and movements.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in material handling within a warehouse environment is preferred.
  • Solid mechanical knowledge with the ability to carry out basic equipment repairs.
  • Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, including the required documentation.
  • Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently; certification may be required.
  • Competence in basic maths for calculating loads and managing inventory.
  • Physical capability to perform heavy lifting as part of daily duties.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills for maintaining accurate records.

Working Hours

  • You will be required to work 12-hour shifts on a rotational schedule, including weekends.
  • Initial training will take place during day shifts, followed by a move to night shifts.

Additional Information

  • All breaks are fully paid.
  • Day rate: £13.84 per hour.
  • Night rate: £15.52 per hour.
