Analytical Chemist

We are seeking an Analytical Chemist to join our client’s team, focusing on the development, validation, and implementation of test methods for plant-derived ingredients used in various applications, from pharmaceuticals to cosmetics. This role requires adherence to GMP and ISO standards, working closely with the Innovation Team to ensure quality and compliance.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Operate and maintain HPLC, LC-MS, GC, and GC-MS equipment for testing and quantification of plant and process yields.
  • Perform sample preparations effectively following written standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct research and experimental planning to analyse a range of products and quantify their chemical properties.
  • Present findings both orally and in written reports.
  • Manage stock of consumables and ensure timely ordering and maintain laboratory cleanliness and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Perform calibration of analytical equipment and maintain calibration records.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related STEM field.
  • Laboratory experience, preferably in a research and development setting.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and GMP regulations.
  • Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office and database management.
  • Experience in the horticultural or pharmaceutical industry is desirable.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
