We are seeking a Business Development Manager with a proactive and driven mentality, who is confident in developing new business through door knocking and has a strong drive for sales. This role is ideal for a proactive individual who is keen on fully managing, supporting, and servicing the account-related needs of an assigned portfolio of clients within the drinks market, ensuring maximum sales revenue and gross margin.

Day to day of the role:
  • Fully manage and support all account-related needs of your assigned client portfolio, aiming to maximise sales revenue and gross margin.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and industry trends and analyse market data to develop effective business strategies.
  • Develop a deep understanding of your clients’ business models, strategies, and ambitions.
  • Proactively identify and target prospective customers within the drinks market.
  • Seek opportunities to supply a full range of products to your portfolio accounts, converting leads into revenue-generating accounts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative packaging solutions.
  • Spend most of your time on the road, with a split between new and existing customers.
  • Record new opportunities, update and close existing opportunities on the company CRM.
  • Provide regular reports on sales performance and business development activities, forecasting future revenue growth.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Demonstrable experience in business development, preferably within the packaging industry, although this is not essential.
  • Strong market research and analytical skills to identify trends and develop business strategies.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a client portfolio effectively.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems to record and manage sales opportunities.
  • A ‘hunter’ mentality, with confidence in developing new business and door knocking.
  • Must be willing to travel extensively within the south of the country.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary with commission paid on existing and new business.
  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 5 pm working hours.
  • 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays.
