Commercial Project Engineer (Fire Stopping Sector)

We urgently require an Operations / Commecrial Manager specifically with experience with any Fire safety related product knowlege - ideally 3yras + in this sector.

Our client is a leading provider of fire-stopping solutions, committed to ensuring safety and compliance across a wide range of industries (by supplying fire stopping products, specialising in passive fire protection, helping businesses and property owners ensure their buildings meet fire safety regulations). Our client provides fire stopping, fire door installation and maintenance, and passive fire surveys to keep people and properties safe.

Due to a period of growth that has seen them expand into a new region they now seek a Commercial Project Engineer based at their offices in Brigg, North Lincolnshire, to lead and oversee day-to-day operations while contributing to the company's long-term strategic vision. This role is pivotal in driving operational efficiency, maintaining compliance, and fostering a positive and productive company culture. You will balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on management to ensure the continued success and growth of the business.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Manage all operational aspects of the business, ensuring seamless day-to-day execution.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly review operational policies and procedures to optimise safety and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including timely filing of necessary documents.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and standards related to fire-stopping services.
  • Oversee budgeting, quoting, financial reporting, and auditing processes to maintain financial health and transparency.
  • Work closely with management to track and improve profitability, cash flow, and cost efficiencies.
  • Identify and address operational challenges, implementing solutions to drive performance and growth.

The Ideal Person for the Commercial Project Engineer role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in operations management, leadership, and team management in a fire safety or construction-related industry.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards for fire-stopping services
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
