S&D Trade Recruitment is pleased to be assisting our client in their search for an experienced Estimator to join their Building Maintenance Services division at their Head Office in Lincoln. This role is focused on delivering competitive and accurate tenders for projects up to £10m, covering new build and refurbishment projects within the region. The company has additional offices in the North West and Eastern England specialising in New Builds, Refurbishments, and Maintenance projects. The division you will be part of focuses on construction projects throughout Lincoln and the East Midlands, working across various sectors including affordable housing, food, retail, education, commercial, industrial, and healthcare.
The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a salary of £55,000 to £60,000.
Estimator Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee traditional and design and build tenders.
- Appraise tender documents and prepare sub-contract and material enquiries.
- Produce detailed and measured bills of quantities.
- Prepare budgets, estimates, and cost plans.
- Checking client requirements.
- Keeping detailed records.
- Manage risk and value management.
- Conduct internal tender adjudications and external client presentations.
What We’re Looking for in an Estimator
- A background in construction with extensive knowledge of refurbishment and new build projects is required.
- Understanding of CDM 2015 Health and Safety regulations, modern construction methods, and contractual obligations.
- A Higher Education qualification (HNC, Diploma, Degree) in a construction related field is advantageous but not essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel with experience in specialist estimating software packages.
- Must have experience in procuring small and large subcontract packages.
- Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
- High attention to detail, numerical, strong problem-solving skills, and effective planning to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skillset both written and verbal.
