Job Purpose

  • Manage a portfolio of corporate tax clients, with a keen focus on advisory work
  • Oversee the provision of M&A transactions, tax due diligence, share option schemes, R&D claims and other advisory work
  • Manage all commercial aspects of your portfolio, ensuring all fees are issues in a timely manner
  • Work closely with Tax Partner to maximise fee income and supervise work in progress and billing for the department
  • Analyse and interpret data and prepare tax advice based on findings
  • Lead liaison with HMRC on behalf of clients, proactively handling enquiries
  • Oversee junior staff, including monitoring workflow, reviewing work, and identifying training opportunities
  • Proactively investigate and identify opportunities for the firm and clients
  • Lead by example to promote and preserve a positive team culture

Job Requirements

  • ATT / CTA qualified or part-qualified
  • Qualified by experience also considered
  • Demonstrable experience in a corporate tax supervisory role within practice
  • Experience in person tax and VAT is desirable, but not essential
  • Strong track record of portfolio management experience, with an advisory focus
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good leadership and people management skills
  • Strong understanding of current tax and general accounting UK regulations
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines
  • Good time management and a positive, can-do attitude when working under pressure
  • Sound IT skills to efficiently carry out work
  • Comfortable seeking advice in order to minimise risks
