Principal Systems Engineer

The Opportunity

Our defence client has an opportunity for a Contract Engineer to join our team within the Integrated Mission Solutions (IMS) line of business for a six-month Contract. This role will be part of the ESCM MDPP testing team.
This role will focus on supporting testing activities for Mission Analysis products. Due to the nature of the work, this role requires 80-100% on-site working in Luton, Lincoln, or Bristol with formal testing to be conducted at the Lincoln facility.
A role within the team will provide exposure to EW products and subject-matter experts with expertise within domain, product, and technology fields.

What you will do
- Creation and review of software test reports
- Creation and update of Acceptance Test Descriptions
- Creation of mission data for Acceptance Tests
- Support of Test Readiness Review
- Dry run of Acceptance testing (to be performed in Lincoln)
- Formal run of Acceptance testing (to be performed in Lincoln)
- Completing/reviewing Acceptance Test Report
- Completing/reviewing Verification Cross Reference Matrix

What we're looking for
- A solid foundation in a relevant technical domain exploited in an EW systems context/application.
- Experience of authoring detailed test descriptions for formal testing.
- Good understanding of design compliance and acceptance criteria relating to formal releases.
- Previous experience of technical leadership of complex products.
- Experience with the creation of Mission Dependent Data for Airborne Systems
- Self-motivated with an aptitude for problem solving and driving challenging issues to a conclusion alongside excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to obtain SC Clearance for UK-caveated programmes.
