Adecco are pleased to be recruiting for a Solution Architect to join Lincolnshire Police at their HQ in Nettleham.

Key Points:

  • Please note, this role is fully office based therefore you must be local to the force

JOB PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The role of Solution Architect within the Digital & Data Directorate has a wide range of responsibilities, which range from the reviewing and interpretation of business requirements (including non-functional requirements), working with users at all levels across the Force, regional partners and nationally where applicable. Designing and implementing application and solution architectures, continuously looking for synergies and efficiency savings and ensuring that appropriate security and protection measures are in place for any application, system, and its related data.

The post holder will follow Enterprise Architecture principles to ensure solutions are fit for purpose, support the Forces strategic direction and are reliable, scalable, secure, and available. Designing solutions can seamlessly integrated with the As Is and target Architecture for the Force. They will write comprehensive technical documentation relating to product and solution architectures, that will be used by other areas of the Digital and Data Directorate to implement and support agreed solutions and participate in the evaluation and introduction of solutions and systems to meet identified business needs.

The post holder will provide day to day technical leadership in relation to solutions that have been or will be implemented by the team, directorate or project across the Force. Providing expert advice and guidance on systems, integrations, and solution architecture. Taking the technical lead and being the technical authority for application and solution architecture in projects, to validate the design and implementation based on the architectural standards and guidelines.

CORE WORK AREAS: The specific accountabilities of this role will be flexible and will change to meet the needs of the organisation as required but will include (or be equivalent in nature to) those listed below:

  • Act as the technical design and architecture authority for area of work (business, capability, infrastructure) and provide technical leadership during the design, development, build, test, and deployment phases.
  • Contribute to the principles, methods, processes and standards of architecture design and modelling. Ensuring adherence to agreed governance model
  • Providing leadership and management to deliver the agreed priorities, working collaboratively with internal teams, partners, and providers to develop effective solutions to address the challenges the Council faces
  • Maximising the impact of resources and value for money to achieve improved outcomes
  • Capable of presenting and explaining technical solutions in a non-technical way to senior stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent professional experience / qualifications
  • Demonstrable experience as a Solution Architect or in a technical/solution delivery capacity for 3+ years
  • Microsoft certification and/or TOGAF
  • Extensive experience gathering technical/business requirements and engaging stakeholders up to director level in large, complex organisations
  • Proven leadership in large teams across operational services or digital transformation, with expertise in designing and delivering scalable, high performance, and resilient solutions
  • Strong ICT skills, including Microsoft Office and other software products, with a good understanding of GDPR, information governance, and data & cyber security
