An East Midlands based local authority is seeking an experienced Senior Adult Social Care Lawyer to provide expert legal advice and services to the Council and external clients. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the authority operates within legal frameworks while delivering high-quality services to the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality legal and administrative advice to the County Council and external clients.
  • Support the Monitoring Officer in legal and governance matters.
  • Handle complex and high-profile cases, offering expert advice on public law and governance.
  • Represent the Council in legal proceedings, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to policy development, ensuring alignment with legal requirements.
  • Provide training and guidance to colleagues, members, and partners.
Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive) with relevant experience.
  • Expertise in adult social care law and local government legal frameworks.
  • Strong case management skills, with the ability to handle complex legal issues.
  • Excellent negotiation, advocacy, and legal drafting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a risk-based approach.
