Our client is looking for a Growth Specialist, playing a vital role in delivering bespoke business support to ambitious, high-growth potential SMEs in the East Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven, senior professional having grown their own business and/or worked in a senior position in a corporate or ambitious SME environment.

To be considered for the role, you’ll require the following essentials:

  • Experience working in UK Government Future Economies
  • Proven ability to prepare action plans for high-growth environments
  • Knowledge of strategic choices and processes within business development, marketing, access to finance and other practical issues
  • Knowledge of the innovation lifecycle, covering idea management, process development, launch, and ongoing improvement
  • Understanding of enabling factors such as HR and incentives, IT, and marketing that support business success
  • Familiarity with market validation and commercialisation for innovative concepts, including pricing strategies, distribution channels, and funding access
  • Practical experience in managing organisational change and transformation
  • Strategic insight into business and innovation, including vision, focus on innovation, and strategy implementation
  • Familiarity with organisational structures and company culture that support innovation
  • Understanding of business sustainability topics, including the circular economy, energy efficiency, and infrastructure
  • Knowledge of SME development and the various business disciplines affecting performance
  • Experience in working with or within Creative, Digital, Industrial, and MedTech sectors
  • Understanding of emerging markets
  • Interest and expertise in investment finance and sustainable business practices
  • Knowledge of innovation policy and associated programmes

Within this position, you’ll also be:

  • Providing tailored innovation and business advice to a portfolio of growth-focused SMEs
  • Act as a coach and mentor, helping businesses create and implement long-term commercialisation and innovation strategies
  • Work closely with clients to address challenges, explore new markets, and leverage funding opportunities
  • Collaborate with Innovate UK and other support organisations to connect clients with essential resources
  • Managing a portfolio of clients, delivering impactful support packages that drive growth and competitiveness
  • Midlands, national and possibly some international travel may be required

Monday to Friday – 35 hour per week
