Job Title: Band 7 Dementia Practitioner (6 months)

Location: Remote (working from Home) - Covering Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire

Working Week: 2-4 days a week depending on your availability

Rates: £30 per hour (days), open to discussion

Job Purpose: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dementia Practitioner to join our strategic mental health team. This role is crucial in supporting the quality of care for individuals with dementia across the East Midlands. The successful candidate will identify and meet the training needs of staff, provide specialist advice, and ensure adherence to the highest standards of dementia care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead dementia-specific activities and the development of the dementia workstream.
  • Maintain specialist knowledge in dementia care and act as a point of contact for related queries.
  • Provide professional advice to the mental health strategic team and clinical staff.
  • Support the implementation of dementia policies and best practice guidelines.
  • Plan, deliver, and monitor high-quality learning and education materials.
  • Represent the strategic mental health team in internal and external meetings.
  • Participate in clinical audit activities and produce written reports as required.
  • Provide assessment and remedial training for staff following referrals.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term plans and the mental health strategy.
  • Monitor clinical and quality performance, taking corrective action as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered professional with NMC/HCPC with expertise in dementia care.
  • Educated to postgraduate level or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in providing advice and guidance on dementia care.
  • Proven track record in planning and designing training materials.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
