We are seeking Special Needs Teaching Assistants to support young people with a diverse range of additional needs in schools across Boston, Lincolnshire. To be considered for this role, prior experience and knowledge of special educational needs (SEN) is essential.

Role Responsibilities:

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, your duties will include:

  • Preparing and adapting learning materials based on lesson plans provided by the class teacher, ensuring they meet individual student needs.
  • Supporting children and young people’s physical, social, and emotional well-being.
  • Using creative and engaging methods to interact with students and enhance their learning experience.
  • Collaborating with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists.
  • Providing personal care when necessary to ensure the well-being of students.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • At least 6 months of experience in an educational or healthcare setting.
  • Experience supporting children, young people, or adults with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, or physical disabilities.
  • A willingness to provide personal care when required.
  • A genuine passion and commitment to helping individuals with additional needs gain independence.
  • A Level 2 or higher qualification, such as a Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.

This role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. All successful applicants must pass background safer recruitment checks, including an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one).
