Euro Municipal Ltd is a market leader in the hire, sales and maintenance of Refuse Collection Vehicles and associated equipment. We operate from our depot in North Scarle (Lincolnshire) and supply vehicles across the whole of the UK. Due to the continued success and expansion of the business, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a HGV Technician / Mechanic to join our team.

This role predominantly involves working on Municipal vehicles, carrying out all aspects of work including; preparing vehicles ready for hire/sale, routine inspections and servicing, pre MOT, roadside assistance and general maintenance work. Our fleet consists mainly Dennis, Mercedes and DAF municipal vehicles, so an understanding of hydraulics and auto electrical experience is preferred, but not essential.

This is a full-time position, with fixed hours and regular overtime is available.

Key Responsibilities (but are not limited to):

  • Carry out periodic safety inspections, services and repair any defects
  • Prepare, present and accompany vehicles for MOT inspections
  • Diagnose faults and repair as required
  • Complete relevant inspection paperwork
  • Work both independently and as part of a team
  • Liaise with the office to order parts
  • Comply with Health & Safety policy and guidance documents

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High level of attention to detail
  • Experienced HGV Technician
  • Knowledge of Refuse Collection Type Vehicles or Similar Equipment - desirable, but not essential
  • Welding, Hydraulic and Auto Electrical skills desirable, but not essential
  • Able to work to deadlines
  • Able to work safely and unsupervised
  • IRTEC qualification - beneficial desirable, but not essential
  • HGV Category C driving licence highly desirable, but not essential
