Job Description:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Gate Engineer to join our team. As a Trainee Gate Engineer, you will work under the guidance of senior engineers to learn and develop skills related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated gates, barriers, and entry systems for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. You will be part of a dynamic team and receive ongoing training to help you progress within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation: Assist with the installation of automated gates, barriers, and security systems, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on existing gate systems, including mechanical and electrical components.
  • Repairs: Help carry out repairs to faulty gate systems, ensuring minimal downtime for customers and providing effective solutions.
  • Customer Service: Maintain good relationships with clients, providing excellent customer service and clear communication regarding the progress of works.
  • Learning & Development: Participate in on-the-job training, attend courses, and work with senior engineers to develop your technical knowledge and practical skills.
  • Documentation: Complete site reports, job sheets, and other required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations and company standards.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Desirable: A basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems (training will be provided).
  • Essential: A willingness to learn and develop new skills in a hands-on environment.
  • Full UK Driving Licence: Required for travel to client sites. (Not Essential)
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills for dealing with clients and team members.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Able to approach problems methodically and find practical solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in completing tasks and ensuring the quality of work.
