My client in the Lisburn area is seeking a Bookkeeper due to expansion.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper and Accounts Assistant to join our team. This role is primarily focused on bookkeeping and VAT duties for a portfolio of clients and getting them ready for year end compliance, with opportunities to support other areas such as:

  • Company accounts preparation
  • Corporation Tax
  • Personal Tax

You will work closely with clients to handle queries confidently and efficiently, ensuring their accounting needs are met with professionalism and care.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients using predominantly Xero but also QuickBooks and Sage online
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  • Supporting the preparation of annual accounts
  • Communicating effectively with clients to resolve queries and provide advice
  • Collaborating with the team to ensure deadlines and high standards are met

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bookkeeping experience, ideally in an accountancy practice
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero (experience with QuickBooks, Sage, and other accounting software is also desirable)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A proactive team player with great attention to detail
  • Familiarity with VAT, Corporation Tax, and Personal Tax processes and deadlines is advantageous
