With over 25 years of experience, our partner develops and builds wind and solar farms, as well as battery and hydrogen projects worldwide. Their specialist teams handle every aspect of project development and implementation-from site assessment, planning and engineering through to operational management and maintenance of assets.

We are recruiting for a Junior Project Engineer to join their dynamic Hybrid Energy Storage team in Lisburn, Ireland

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Head of Battery Storage and Hybrid Energy, you will:

  • Assist the project development team in identifying and advancing hybrid renewable energy and standalone energy storage projects, with capacities ranging from 5MW to over 200MW.
  • Collaborate with project design teams to develop layouts, provide input for planning applications, and assess technical risks.
  • Contribute to the tendering and construction phases, ensuring project goals are met.
  • Implement strategic approaches to identify optimal sites for storage facilities at both distribution and transmission levels.
  • Optimize system performance and energy yield for renewable energy systems.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of project documentation to meet internal and external standards and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders (e.g., consultants) for research and data gathering.
  • Undertake tasks or projects assigned by the Hybrid Energy Storage & Systems Department in Germany, as well as other projects as requested by local Directors.


Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Degree in a technical or engineering discipline.
  • Relevant experience in project engineering.
  • Expertise in developing large-scale renewable energy projects, including battery storage projects.
  • Proficient in communication, presentation, project management, and negotiate on.

  • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised, efficient, and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently on specific tasks.
