General Operative

Our clients are looking for a detail-oriented, self-motivated individual to join their maintenance team as a General Operative.

The Role

As a valued member of the team, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks to ensure a timely and efficient turnaround of their cabin and equipment hire fleet.

Key yard duties will include repairing, maintaining, and cleaning stock equipment.

The ideal candidate should have a good basic level of plumbing and joinery experience.

Organisational skills will be important to prioritize work schedules and communicate effectively with the main office by telephone.

The desired candidate should be capable of using their own initiative, work independently and as part of a team.

Good time management and effective communication skills will be essential for success in this role.

Duties:

  • Liaise with the office daily to prioritise equipment repairs
  • Assist current yard team to repair stock equipment in a timely manner to fulfil customer orders
  • Update office with latest equipment status
  • Monitor level of supplies and responsible for ensuring that stock levels are adequate and kept updated
  • Occasional visits to customer sites and event sites may be required
  • Ensure the yard is always kept tidy and in good order

Skills and Qualifications

  • Plumbing and joinery experience
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work to strict deadlines
  • Ability to record and complete necessary paperwork
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
