SEN Mental Health Support Worker – Liskeard

Location: Liskeard
Salary: £80-£90 per day

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Mental Health Support Worker to join a welcoming school in Liskeard. This is an excellent opportunity to support young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs in a nurturing and structured environment.

About the Role

As an SEN Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide targeted support to students with additional needs, helping them manage their emotions and behaviour while promoting positive engagement in learning. This full-time role is ideal for someone passionate about mental health and inclusion in education.

Working Hours: 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Implement personalised support plans in collaboration with teachers and therapists.
  • Promote emotional resilience and positive behaviour management strategies.
  • Support students in developing social skills and confidence in a structured environment.
  • Help create a safe and inclusive learning space that encourages student progress.
Requirements
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are mandatory.
  • Previous experience in SEN, mental health support, or behaviour mentoring is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability to meet the needs of students.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
