Maths Teacher

Long Term Teachers are proud to have partnered with secondary schools across Cornwall and are now looking to recruit a Teacher of Maths for a part time position in Liskeard.

We are looking to recruit an inspirational teacher with enthusiasm, sensitivity, resilience, drive, strong interpersonal skills and ambition who is committed to raising the expectations and achievements of our students. The ability to teach Maths at A level would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Maths lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on students’ progress, providing targeted support where necessary.
  • Participate in department meetings, training, and school activities.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Maths department and the wider school community.
  • Ensure that all students are motivated and challenged to achieve their full potential.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A relevant degree in Maths or a related subject.
  • A passion for teaching Maths.
  • Experience of teaching Maths at secondary school level (Key Stage 3 and 4 essential; Key Stage 5 desirable).
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and inspire students of varying abilities.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to professional development and the ability to contribute to the school’s improvement journey.

Desirable:

  • Experience teaching A-Level Maths.
  • Familiarity with the latest educational initiatives and a desire to innovate in teaching practices.
