- Program, set, and operate a Haas CNC 4-axis turning centre
- Set existing programs as provided by the production engineering facility
- Create and validate new programs under guidance
- Operate CNC Machinery: Set up and operate a Haas CNC 4-axis turning centre with driven tooling, producing both simple and complex components in short batches to precise tolerances.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect work at the machine, approve initial pieces, and ensure consistent quality throughout the batch. Communicate any issues promptly to maintain high standards.
- Program Creation and Maintenance: Develop and validate programs using Haas NextGen control. Identify tooling requirements and manage maintenance and calibration issues effectively.
- Versatile Machinery Operation: Operate additional production machinery as needed, with training and guidance provided for optimal performance.
- Manual Machinery Use: Utilise manual machinery for secondary operations or fixturing as required, ensuring flexibility in production tasks.
- Workplace Safety: Maintain a clean and safe working environment, strictly adhering to Health and Safety regulations and promoting safe working practices.
- General Workshop Duties: Perform various workshop tasks, including unloading, storing, and cutting materials, as well as deburring and hand finishing components when necessary.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the team to determine and prioritise manufacturing tasks and production schedules, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Record Keeping: Accurately complete all necessary production control records, including timesheets and inspection reports, to ensure proper documentation and traceability.)
- CNC programming, setting, and operator experience
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
- Proactive attitude with the ability to take initiative and ownership of issues
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
