Job Title: Machine Shop Team Lead

Reporting to: Operations Director

Hours of Work: 42.5 hours per week

Hourly Rate: £40k to £45k per annum (dependant on experience)

Role Summary

· Day to day management of the CNC and toolroom manufacturing resource

· Workload scheduling, internal parts movements, inspection & quality control within an ISO9001 environment

· Ensure deadlines are met and delays are communicated promptly and clearly

Key Responsibilities

· Working to agreed manufacturing priorities and production schedules

· Support vehicle workshop with overhaul & modification of parts and assemblies

· Ensure quality standards of manufactured items are adhered to

· Liaise with Operations Director to identify priorities

· Complete all necessary production control records & timesheets

· Identify and assist with purchasing requirements, expedite purchase orders to maintain delivery schedules

· Support Operations Director to validate purchasing decisions i.e., cost and lead time

· Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensure Health and Safety regulations are met, and safe working practices are adhered to

· Support inventory control of workshop activity

· Support manufacture of components and assemblies using manual machining & bench fitting skills as required.

Experience and Required Skills

· Supervisory experience, with a flexible, responsive & collaborative approach

· Strong organisational and prioritisation skills

· High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and visual quality

· Ability to take initiative and ownership of issues, with a proactive can-do attitude

· MS Office suite experience; Outlook, Excel, Word

Desirable Experience

· Time served apprenticeship trained machinist, fitter, or toolmaker

· Expertise in toolroom techniques

· Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in similar role
