Factory Manager required to join a well-established leading sub-contract precision engineering company, specializing precision-manufactured components for various industries, including aerospace, automotive, medical, and defence. The Factory Manager will have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and proven team leadership and management skills and a can-do, hands-on attitude. This role involves overseeing all aspects of the manufacturing process, including production planning, scheduling the workload to the shopfloor, ensuring that all materials are available for production and that sub-contractors are organised in good time so that delivery times are met, as well as overseeing the quality control department.

Factory Manager Position Overview
  • Liaising with the customer in good time if there are any delays/problems in production.
  • Working closely with the sales, design and planning team and the shop floor to ensure that all paperwork is complete, up-to-date and correct and that all necessary design changes are made.
  • Making sure health and safety rules and regulations are up-to-date and being adhered to.
  • Continually monitor quality and report to the appropriate department on any issues and to initiate and monitor change where required.
  • Monitor overtime and carry out disciplinaries when required.
  • Be responsible for all factory areas inside and out to maintain a clean and tidy environment.
  • Carry out annual appraisals with factory staff and identify/offer relevant training/coaching and team building exercises where applicable.
Factory Manager Position Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a factory management role within the precision engineering or manufacturing industry.
  • Overall the right candidate should be a strong, confident individual, able to communicate easily on all levels and have demonstrable people management skills to maintain good relationships within the workforce and further build a strong, collaborative team.
  • Attention to Detail - High level of attention to detail, with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Time Management - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.

  • Full time - Permanent position
