The Operations Manager is a key figure in ensuring the smooth running of the manufacturing processes within a FMCG environment. This role carries the responsibility of maintaining and improving production lines, overseeing a very large team with 3 Managers as direct reports, and ensuring high standards of quality and safety are upheld, while looking at various continuous improvement strategies.

Description

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the production production department.
  • Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices.
  • Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of the business to ensure smooth progress.
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures.
  • Oversee quality control, safety and monitor production KPI's.
  • Work with Plant Manager and site Engineers on Continuous Improvement incentives and strategies
  • Recruit, train, supervise and appraise team and department Managers.
  • Formulate strategic and operational objectives.
  • Examine financial data and use them to improve profitability.

Profile

A successful Manufacturing Operations Manager should have:

  • Proven experience in the FMCG industry, specifically in an Engineering & Manufacturing role.
  • Excellent knowledge of production management and quality standards.
  • Strong ability to interpret financial data.
  • Great team leadership skills.
  • Working knowledge of performance evaluation metrics.
  • Oversaw teams of 200+ people with two layers.
  • Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Management, Engineering or related field.

Job Offer
