Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Shift Team Leader, you will:
- Ensure compliance to all health, safety and environmental regulations on site.
- Complete training and develop your competence in line with the sites safety rules.
- Carry out regular plant walkarounds and inspections to ensure efficient and safe operations of the plant, as well as record and log issues and safety concerns clearly and concisely.
- Learn to understand the correct way to respond to emergency situations.
- Assist in the operating of the plant systems as well as operate mobile plant equipment and overhead gantry.
- Assist in the monitoring of plant inputs and outputs.
- Collect and report data as instructed.
- Provide shift cover in case of illness, holiday or training absences.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Ideally operations experience in a similar environment or a background in defence sectors.
- Experience operating mobile plant equipment would be advantageous.
- Computer literate.
- Knowledge of health and safety practises.
Personal skills
The Assistant Plant Operator role would suit someone who:
- Is enthusiastic about learning.

- Has good communication standards both written and verbal.
