Responsibilities and Duties
Reporting to the Plant Operations Manager, you will:

  • Act as Senior Authorised Person, ensuring the correct application of the sites safety rules.
  • Ensure the facility operates in full compliance with all legal and operational requirements, including environmental permits and planning conditions.
  • Ensure that waste is processed in accordance with site guidelines, managing non-conforming waste appropriately.
  • Oversee facility inputs and outputs to ensure efficiency and timeliness.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to the shift team.
  • Produce detailed incident reports, shift logs, and operational data.
  • Maximise plant availability and reliability through proactive measures.
  • Execute comprehensive shift handovers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide cover for other Shift Team Leaders in cases of sickness, holiday, or training.


Professional Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Experience in operations within the power generation sector, ideally Energy from Waste, CCGT, Biomass, Oil, or Coal, or a background as a time-served Royal Navy engineer.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant facility consents, H&S legislation, safety rules, and outage management.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with a track record of managing operational teams in dynamic, high-pressure environments.
