About the Role:
As a Finance Officer, you will:
- Play an effective role within the Finance Department, contributing to four core financial pillars: Transactional Finance & Systems, Business Planning & Performance Management, Statutory & Technical Financial Accounting/Internal Audit, and Insurance, Risk, and Procurement.
- Assist with key elements such as reconciliations (VAT, payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, CIL), maintaining elements of the Financial Accounting Systems, allocating cash received and cash paid out, preparing, reconciling, checking, and posting system journals, budget setting and monitoring, attending finance meetings with other non-finance service areas, financial reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements/close down of accounts.
About You:
We are looking for a candidate who meets the following criteria:
- English and Math GCSE or equivalent (Essential)
- Analytical approach to financial data processing with the ability to work accurately to deadlines (Essential)
- Experience in transactional processing & input, monitoring and managing financial accounts, Insurance, Risk, and Procurement in a Non-Profit or Public Sector environment (Desirable)
- Proficient use of Financial Management Systems and Microsoft products (Essential)
- Knowledge of Financial Policies and Processes and understanding of the Financial Calendar (Essential)
- Strong character and negotiation skills to ensure adherence to budgets (Essential)
- Accepts responsibility for actions and decisions, responding to challenges with an open mind (Essential)
- Builds effective relationships and communicates clearly and respectfully with colleagues and customers (Essential)
