We are looking for SEMH Teaching Assistants (Learning Support Assistants) to join our dynamic team, providing essential support in Key Stage 2 (KS2) to cover staff absence. This is a full-time role, and candidates must have experience in working with pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, particularly managing challenging behaviour in a primary school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
- Assist the class teacher with classroom management and lesson delivery.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for pupils.
- Use de-escalation techniques and behaviour management strategies to support pupils in distress.
- Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual needs.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEMH and managing challenging behaviour.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting children with complex needs.
- Available to work full-time, Monday to Friday, from 8:20 am to 3:20 pm.
- Ability to attend INSET training every Tuesday until 5:30 pm (essential).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8:20 am - 3:20 pm
- Tuesdays until 5:30 pm for staff training (INSET).
