We are looking for SEMH Teaching Assistants (Learning Support Assistants) to join our dynamic team, providing essential support in Key Stage 2 (KS2) to cover staff absence. This is a full-time role, and candidates must have experience in working with pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, particularly managing challenging behaviour in a primary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Assist the class teacher with classroom management and lesson delivery.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for pupils.
  • Use de-escalation techniques and behaviour management strategies to support pupils in distress.
  • Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual needs.

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH and managing challenging behaviour.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting children with complex needs.
  • Available to work full-time, Monday to Friday, from 8:20 am to 3:20 pm.
  • Ability to attend INSET training every Tuesday until 5:30 pm (essential).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:20 am - 3:20 pm
  • Tuesdays until 5:30 pm for staff training (INSET).
