Reed Finance have recently partnered up with a fantastic business who are looking for their next Group Financial Accountant. The right candidate must possess the below experience and be in a position to hit the ground running after training. 

The Group Financial Accountant plays a crucial role within the finance team, providing support on all technical financial matters and ensuring continuous financial compliance and excellence. Collaborating closely with the Group Head of Financial Management, the Group Financial Accountant will support the financial management function across the organization. This position offers exposure to all companies within the group, allowing the Group Financial Accountant to enhance their knowledge and skills, and gain a thorough understanding of the group’s financial controls and processes.

Key Objectives

  • Statutory Accounts Production

    • Prepare the annual statutory accounts for all group entities, with a solid understanding of relevant financial regulations and standards. 
    • Act as the primary contact for the Group’s External Audit, ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory financial reporting requirements, and liaising with all internal and external stakeholders.
    • Assist the Group Head of Financial Management in producing the annual report for the statutory accounts.
  • Financial Management

    • Oversee the production of accurate and timely entity management accounts for the Group and corresponding board reporting.
    • Review the CBS capital and development accounting program, including managing the capitalisation of the new ERP system and future capital projects.
    • Assist with the implementation of the new ERP system, support the redesign of existing processes, and introduce robust system controls.
    • Support the Group Head of Financial Management in producing, implementing, and monitoring financial plans and policies.
    • Contribute to the Group’s continuous improvement agenda, including managing and providing financial assistance for service reviews, and benchmarking the Group’s activities.
  • Relationship Management

    • Liaise with funders, regulatory bodies, Internal and External Auditors, and other third-party or voluntary partners of the Group, including attending Board/EMT meetings as appropriate.
  • Leadership

    • Manage the day-to-day operation and delivery of comprehensive Financial Management Services within the direct responsibility of the post holder.
  • Other

    • Provide cover and support as necessary to ensure the smooth delivery of wider Finance Team services, minimizing disruption of core services during busy periods.
    • Meet appraisal targets and support the delivery and achievement of overall business objectives.
    • Promote equality and diversity, and ensure non-discriminatory practices in all aspects of work.
    • Adhere to Section 7 of the Health and Safety at Work Act, taking reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions or omissions.
