Job Title - Financial Accountant
Function - Finance
Reporting to - Financial Controller
Location - Knowsley Hybrid working available
Job Purpose - To manage and review the financial and regulatory risks, controls and processes and cash management

Responsibilities:

Oversee accounts payable team and processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate record keeping
Leading production of a rolling 13 week cashflow forecasting on a weekly basis and foreign currency forecasting
Preparation of the quarterly VAT calculations, ensuring full compliance with VAT legislation and timely submission of HMRC returns
Preparation of monthly financial reports for senior management and external stakeholders
Undertake quality reviews of the teams work to ensure standards and deadlines are met
Support with management reporting, external reporting, KPIs packs, balance sheet reviews
Assist with the month end close and statutory audit process
Ensure accurate financial records are maintained on our general ledger and supporting systems
Maintain and develop controls and processes, identifying improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy and quality
Management of the team in day-to-day operations, providing guidance and training where required to contribute to the development of team members
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and enhance operational efficiency
Ad hoc tasks as and when required


Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills
ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified audit experiences preferable
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Proven experience in financial accounting and management within a corporate environment
Advanced Excel skills, capable of handling bulk data/system exports and utilising appropriate formulas
Good knowledge of accounting packages Navision 4PS would be advantageous

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively to meet continual tight deadlines
Ability to work collaboratively within a team whilst also demonstrating leadership capabilities
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills at all levels within the business
