Accountable Recruitment are working in partnership with our client who are a leading organisation currently undergoing significant transformation, and they are seeking a strategic financial controller to support their evolving business. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact on their financial strategy, performance, and culture.

As the Financial Controller, you will be at the heart of driving financial excellence within the organisation. Reporting directly to the UK Finance Director, you will be integral to overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management and financial analysis for your business. This role will also give you the chance to be involved in large-scale projects, including the implementation of a new ERP system.

Key responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting - you will prepare and review financial statements. Ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting - lead the budgeting process and collaborate with department heads to develop accurate budgets.
  • Monitor performance and provide detailed analysis on budget variances.
  • You will maintain rolling forecasts to aid strategic decision-making.
  • Cash Flow Management - ensure optimal cash flow management to meet daily operational needs.
  • Financial Analysis - conduct deep-dive financial analysis to support strategic initiatives.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and evaluate key investment options. Lead ROI analysis for various projects and investments.
  • Compliance and Controls - ensure compliance with all financial regulations and internal policies. Maintain and improve internal controls. Oversee external audits and tax compliance, working closely with auditors and tax advisors.
  • Team Leadership - lead and mentor a high-performing finance team, encouraging collaboration and innovation.
  • Financial Strategy - partner with senior management to create and implement financial strategies aligned with long-term business objectives.
  • Offer expert recommendations to drive growth and financial improvement.

Key skills:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.
  • Strong track record as a Financial Controller or in a senior finance role within a large, growing business.
  • Driving performance within a fast-paced, operational business.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain and present complex financial data.
  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
