You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organisation’s financial stability while supporting key operational functions. About the Role As Financial Controller, you will:
- Lead weekly cashflow management discussions, ensuring financial health and clarity.
- Oversee revenue recognition and monthly reporting, utilising tools like Xero and Synergist.
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, especially for overseas clients, and actively manage credit control to maintain cashflow.
- Produce and track financial reports against budgets, working closely with team leads.
- Develop strong working relationships across the organisation, communicating financial procedures to non-financial stakeholders.
- Participate in project pipeline meetings, maintaining visibility of ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Collaborate on financial processes, including implementing flexible payment terms with clients to optimise cashflow.
- Support the preparation of year-end accounts (May year-end) with external assistance.
- Provide guidance and oversight for the studio administrator on finance-related tasks.
- Significant experience in financial management, preferably in a fast-paced or scale-up environment.
- Expertise in stakeholder engagement, including senior leadership, project managers, and external clients.
- Strong communication skills to explain financial processes clearly and build trusted relationships.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to improving financial systems and workflows.
- Assertiveness and confidence to establish boundaries and uphold financial procedures with clients and internal teams.
- Experience with Xero and a willingness to learn Synergist (training provided).
- Professional qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA) are a plus but not essential.
