Reed are working with a client who are looking for a dynamic and experienced Financial Controller / Finance Manager to join our small but dedicated finance team. This role is pivotal in managing the finance function across three operational businesses with a combined turnover of approximately 6m. The successful candidate will supervise and manage the workload of a part-qualified AAT accountant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals, journal postings, full balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Leading the preparation of the annual budgets and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Developing and maintaining short-term cashflow forecasts to ensure financial stability.
  • Producing and presenting weekly management performance reports to the operational management team.
  • Overseeing the accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Preparing and processing supplier payments in a timely manner.
  • Creating ad-hoc financial reports for management or Directors as required.
  • Managing the preparation and processing of the monthly payroll and pension contributions.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in Xero accounting, Sage Payroll, Advanced MS Excel
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
