Reed are working with a client who are looking for a dynamic and experienced Financial Controller / Finance Manager to join our small but dedicated finance team. This role is pivotal in managing the finance function across three operational businesses with a combined turnover of approximately 6m. The successful candidate will supervise and manage the workload of a part-qualified AAT accountant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals, journal postings, full balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Leading the preparation of the annual budgets and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Developing and maintaining short-term cashflow forecasts to ensure financial stability.
- Producing and presenting weekly management performance reports to the operational management team.
- Overseeing the accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Preparing and processing supplier payments in a timely manner.
- Creating ad-hoc financial reports for management or Directors as required.
- Managing the preparation and processing of the monthly payroll and pension contributions.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in Xero accounting, Sage Payroll, Advanced MS Excel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
