Job Title: Head of Estimating

Job Summary:


The Head of Estimating will be responsible for managing the estimating function within the company, ensuring that all tenders and cost estimates are prepared accurately and competitively. The role involves leading a team of estimators, developing pricing strategies, and working closely with senior management to drive business success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the estimating department and lead a team of estimators.

  • Prepare and review accurate cost estimates, tenders, and bids.

  • Develop and implement estimating strategies to improve efficiency and accuracy.

  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to determine costs.

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative materials/methods.

  • Maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to obtain competitive pricing.

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and senior leadership to ensure alignment with business goals.

  • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential cost overruns.

  • Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and competitor pricing strategies.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in estimating, preferably within [industry sector].

  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing an estimating team.

  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.

  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
