This opportunity offers the chance to work closely with a fantastic senior management team, deliver impactful financial insights, and help drive the business forward. They are seeking a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or a QBE professional with significant experience in management accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Monthly Management Accounts Preparation - Own the preparation of monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis, and provide strategic insights that will guide key business decisions.
- Own Budgeting & Forecasting - Take the lead in preparing and updating annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and financial projections to ensure the business stays on track.
- Financial Analysis & Decision Support - Conduct high-level financial analysis to identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities, offering expert advice to department heads to support informed decision-making.
- Drive Process Improvements - Proactively identify inefficiencies and opportunities for streamlining processes to improve financial performance, contributing to the overall success of the organisation.
- Oversee Cash Flow & Reconciliations - Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are completed with accuracy and on time.
- Month-End Ownership - Drive the month-end process, ensuring financial results are delivered in a timely manner, and address any issues as they arise.
- Stakeholder Engagement - Partner with senior leaders and non-financial managers to provide finance support, challenge assumptions, and ensure business activities are financially sound.
- Ad-Hoc Reporting & Insights - Deliver ad-hoc reports as required, helping senior leadership navigate complex financial matters and providing actionable insights.
- Support Audit & Compliance - Assist with the preparation for year-end audits, ensuring compliance with both internal controls and external regulations.
What We're Looking For:
- Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified preferred; or QBE with extensive experience in a similar management accounting role.
- Proven Experience: Strong experience in producing and presenting management accounts with the ability to influence key decisions.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyse large sets of data, identify trends, and provide recommendations.
- Strong Systems Knowledge: Advanced Excel skills and experience using accounting software.
- Communication Skills: Confident in presenting complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders and senior management.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure accuracy and timeliness while managing competing priorities.
