About the Company:A prestigious accountancy practice in Liverpool is seeking an experienced Private Client Tax Director to lead their expanding tax division. This is a senior leadership role where you will provide strategic advice to high-net-worth individuals and families, delivering bespoke tax planning solutions. The firm is known for its excellent client service, and this role offers an opportunity to shape the growth and direction of the private client tax offering.

The Role:As the Private Client Tax Director, you will oversee the private client tax team, delivering complex and innovative tax planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, business owners, and trusts. You will work closely with partners and other senior management, advising on tax-efficient structuring, succession planning, and wealth management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the Private Client Tax division and managing a team of tax professionals.
  • Providing expert tax planning advice to high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, and family businesses.
  • Advising on complex tax matters, including inheritance tax, capital gains tax, trusts, and estates.
  • Developing and implementing tax-efficient strategies for succession planning and wealth preservation.
  • Acting as a key contact for clients, building long-lasting relationships and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Keeping up to date with tax legislation changes and ensuring clients are fully informed of any implications.
  • Managing and reviewing complex tax compliance matters and filings.
  • Driving business development activities, including identifying new opportunities and expanding client relationships.
  • Working closely with other departments, such as corporate tax and accounting, to provide a holistic service.
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing junior team members, ensuring their growth and progression.

Requirements:

  • CTA/ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with extensive experience in private client tax.
  • Proven track record of advising high-net-worth individuals and families on complex tax matters.
  • Strong knowledge of UK tax legislation, particularly in relation to inheritance tax, capital gains tax, trusts, and estates.
  • Previous experience managing and developing a team within a professional services environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • A proactive approach to business development, with a proven ability to grow a client portfolio.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
  • Commercially astute, with the ability to identify opportunities and deliver strategic advice.
  • A high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple complex client engagements.
