Statutory Accountant X2Full Time (Office Based)Paying £55-60kContract – 24 MonthsOur client is looking to recruit 2 Qualified Accountants to join them on a 24 month contract. Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for identifying solutions to close both the gap in resources to maintain essential ‘business-as-usual’ finance processes, and to achieve a return to the preparation, audit and submission of accounts within set and agreed timescales. You will also support ongoing challenges including the need to achieve a balanced budget with a realistic and deliverable cost improvement programme.Key responsibilities of the Statutory Accountant:
  • Support the head of finance with monitoring the timely completion of the month and year end accounts timetable.
  • Production of draft financial statements for subsidiary entities under the direction of the head of finance.
  • Production of draft financial statements for the central funds including the preparation of comprehensive working papers.
  • Support the head of finance with responding to external audit queries.
  • Preparation and submission of VAT and other tax returns and the detailed review of the taxation implications of the rationalisation of the archdiocesan subsidiary company structure.
  • Support the head of finance with the project management of the transfer of the main finance system to the cloud, ensuring that business continuity is maintained.
  • Lead on the reduction in the number of bank accounts including the delivery of training on internet banking
  • Responsibility for undertaking audits as directed by the head of finance.
  • Updating and preparation of standard operating procedures for key financial processes as directed by the head of finance.
