As a Systems Project Accountant, you will play a crucial role in helping us transform the financial systems and processes, ensuring they continue to lead the way in financial efficiency and decision-making. Job Description:We are seeking a skilled and motivated Systems Project Accountant to lead the implementation and optimisation of a new financial system. This is an exciting opportunity to drive meaningful change and enhance financial operations across the Group. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth integration of new systems, improve current processes, and create robust financial controls. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the implementation of a new financial system, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition and ongoing system support.
  • Work closely with senior management to ensure the financial reporting structure aligns with strategic goals, providing insights that support key business decisions.
  • Maintain and strengthen system controls to ensure accuracy and security of financial data, aligning permissions and access with organisational requirements.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for financial system queries, offering support and guidance to users across departments.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of all financial processes and procedures, and lead training sessions for both new and existing staff to promote system and process proficiency.
  • Identify areas for improvement within current systems, taking a proactive approach to develop and implement process improvements, including automation opportunities.
  • Regularly review and update financial policies and procedures to reflect best practices and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the testing and assessment of new finance systems, driving the process from selection to successful implementation.
  • Work alongside the wider finance team to implement effective financial controls, procedures, and governance across the Group.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in finance systems implementation, management, or support, preferably in a project accounting or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes, controls, and reporting systems.
  • Experience with system integration and process automation in a financial setting.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Experience in training teams and creating system/process documentation.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A relevant professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) is desirable but not essential.
