Trainee Finance Officer - Liverpool

I am representing a client looking for a Trainee Finance Officer to join their growing Multi-Academy Trust at an exciting time of transformation. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual to start their finance career while gaining hands-on experience with AI, automation, and digital transformation tools.

Location: LiverpoolSalary: Up to £26,000 per annumContract: Permanent, Full-time (37 hours per week)

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing management accounts and reports
  • Support invoice processing, payments, and supplier communications
  • Reconcile bank accounts and maintain accurate financial records
  • Assist with budgeting, financial planning, and strategic decision-making
  • Participate in audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations
  • Contribute to automation projects using tools like Power BI and Monday.com
  • Attend training and workshops to develop finance and technology skills
Requirements:
  • GCSEs (A*-C/5+) in Maths and English or equivalent
  • AAT Level 3 or a finance-related degree (desirable)
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with workflow automation tools
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a team
  • A full, clean driving licence and access to a car for business use (desirable)
