  • Are you an experienced and dynamic physiotherapist looking to take the next step in your career? Advanced Musculoskeletal Practitioner (Band 8A) to join our Mid-Mersey Division. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred musculoskeletal care while contributing to service innovation and improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Triage, assess, and manage complex acute and chronic conditions, ensuring appropriate referral pathways.
  • Work in an extended role, including requesting diagnostic tests (X-rays, MRIs, blood tests) and performing injection therapy where applicable.
  • Act as a source of expertise for primary healthcare practitioners, consultants, and senior physiotherapists.
  • Support leadership, service development, and quality improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and supervision to junior staff and students.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure high standards of clinical governance.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • HCPC-registered Chartered Physiotherapist.
  • Extensive post-registration experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy at Band 7 level or above.
  • Strong clinical reasoning skills with expertise in managing a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Experience in audit, research, and service development.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in musculoskeletal injection therapy or prescribing.
  • Experience interpreting X-rays, MRI scans, and blood tests.
  • Training in ultrasound scanning.
  • Previous experience as a team leader or in a management role.
