About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Mechanical Estimator to join a leading provider of infrastructure and network services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preparing analytical tenders for mechanical projects across a range of sectors, including education, commercial, and healthcare. Experience in decarbonization and sustainable solutions is highly desirable.

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for leading the bidding process, producing accurate cost estimates, and providing valuable input into the design and build phases of projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to high-profile projects while working with a collaborative and dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed and accurate mechanical tenders for projects in the education, commercial, and healthcare sectors.
  • Work closely with the project team to understand client requirements and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Lead and manage bids, ensuring that all aspects of the tender process are completed on time and to the highest standards.
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to produce accurate cost estimates.
  • Develop mechanical systems designs, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and sustainability requirements.
  • Collaborate with design teams to deliver cost-effective and energy-efficient solutions, with a focus on decarbonization.
  • Engage with clients, contractors, and suppliers to gather the necessary information for the preparation of tenders.
  • Maintain and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to support business development efforts.
  • Ensure all bids are submitted with the correct level of technical detail, cost analysis, and risk assessment.

Key Requirements:

  • A relevant mechanical qualification (HNC/HND/BEng or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in preparing analytical tenders for mechanical projects in sectors such as education, commercial, and healthcare.
  • Proven experience in decarbonization and implementing sustainable mechanical solutions.
  • Strong design and build experience, with the ability to lead the bidding process and manage complex tenders.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office.
