S Norton & Co Ltd are proud to be one of the country's leading metal recycling companies.
Due to our continued expansion and investment, we are now looking for a mobile plant operator at our Liverpool Bankfield site. The role involves the loading and unloading of HGV vehicles, the loading/feeding of shredders, shears and balers and moving of materials into stock piles. There will also be a requirement to take part in vessel loading and unloading. Depending on your experience and capability, you will be driving various heavy plant including 360 material handlers, wheel loaders etc as used within the metal recycling industry.
Core tasks include:-
- Feedingthe shredder, shears and balers as directed and in line with business requirements
- Load and unload materials from heavy goods vehicles
- Load ships in a safe and orderly manner
- Carry out daily machine start-up and shut-down procedures
- Carry out daily machine checks
- Comply with all equipment operating systems
Essential skills:-
- Proven track record of working in a comparable role
- Proven ability of driving heavy mobile plant
- Capable of conducting basic maintenance including, but not exclusive to; greasing, oiling and fuelling of plant
- Driving Licence
Core hours of work are 07.45to 17.00 Mon-Fri. Additional hours paid at premium rate will be required.
For the purposes of Healthand Safety applicants should have a good command of English Language, literacyand numeracy skills, and the ability to read notices and follow instructions.
